2. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Macro Man iOS mobile application. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or platforms that may be linked from or integrated with the app.

3. Information We Collect

We collect or process the following categories of information:

• Account and subscription data: a user identifier and subscription status used to verify whether you have an active subscription.
• Content you submit for app features: food photos, audio recordings, text prompts, and nutrition or profile inputs you provide, such as age, height, weight, goals, meal preferences, or blacklist ingredients.
• Purchase information: subscription transaction and entitlement information provided through Apple and RevenueCat.
• Analytics and technical data: app usage information, device and diagnostic data, identifiers, and event data collected through Firebase, Amplitude, Google Analytics, Apple, and AWS logs.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• provide and operate the Macro Man app;
• authenticate users and manage access to subscription-based features;
• process your content with AI-powered features, including meal analysis and related app functionality;
• measure performance, improve the app, diagnose issues, and prevent abuse;
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

5. Third-Party Services and Sharing

We may share personal information with service providers that support the app, including:

• Firebase for authentication and related infrastructure;
• RevenueCat for subscription management;
• OpenAI for processing photos, audio, text, and related inputs used by app features;
• AWS for backend hosting and infrastructure;
• Apple for App Store distribution and in-app purchases;
• Amplitude and Google Analytics for analytics and app measurement.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

6. Payments

All payments are handled through Apple in-app purchases. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We may receive subscription status, transaction metadata, and entitlement information needed to validate access.

7. Data Retention

In our database, we store only a user identifier and subscription status for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Content submitted to app features is processed to provide the requested functionality. Analytics, provider-side logs, and technical records may be retained by us or our service providers for operational, security, legal, and measurement purposes for as long as reasonably necessary.

8. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards under applicable law.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and applicable U.S. privacy laws, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or information about how your data is processed. You may request deletion of your data by emailing help@macro-man.com.

10. Children's Privacy

Macro Man is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted in the app or at the relevant public page with a revised effective date.
